Working as an administrative intern I developed an attendance incentive program to target students who are habitually truant. As part of this program, I reached out to businesses for monetary and in-kind donations. I was able to get over $750 worth of donations. These prizes were given to students whose attendance had improved.
This project would not have had the impact it did without the support of business and community sponsors. It proved to me how important it is for a principal to establish positive relationships within the community.
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.
